In The World's End, Shin is on a terraforming mission and keeps in contact with Rukiya, an engineer who is on Earth. Shin feels quite lonesome in outer space, but luckily for him, he has a highly developed A.I. to keep him company. Shin's mission is just about over and when he's scheduled to return to Earth, Rukiya has some terrible news for him.
