Top Ten Yuri Manga (according to Japanese fans)

Did your favorite yuri manga make the list?
Popular Japanese yuri news website Yurinavi held their second annual Yuri Manga Popularity Poll from July 10 to July 17. Participants could vote for up to five manga titles published before July 10, 2018, as long as it included depictions of love or close friendship between two girls.
Over 1,900 people voted, and in total, 500 manga titles received at least one vote. Yurinav’s top 30 list showcased many classics and newer titles.
Here are the top ten yuri manga according to Japanese fans!
10. Futaribeya: A Room for Two by Yukiko (Number of Votes: 192)

Futaribeya is a 4-panel comedy manga about two very different roommates and their daily life attending high school. It is currently published \by Gentosha in Denshi Birz. Tokyopop will release an English edition in September 2018.

This slice of life manga, first published in Ichijinsha’s Comic Yuri Hime in 2015, follows a pair of roommates, Nanami and Kaede. Nanami, a competent businesswoman, slowly begins to realize that her feelings towards the budding manga artist Kaede are romantic.

Kishi Torajirou’s slice of life manga began serialization in 2010 and currently runs in Shueisha’s online magazine Shonen Jump +. The manga follows the everyday lives of various high school girls. Commenters praised the manga for its ability to seamlessly mix comedy and serious moments in its vignettes.

Miman’s Watashi no Yuri wa Oshigotodesu! takes place in a yuri-themed cafe. Workers act like students of a fictional all-girls school and perform common yuri tropes for their customers. The main character, Hime, begins working at the cafe after accidentally injuring an employee on the street. She quickly finds out that the employee’s personas are opposites to their true personalities. Ichijinsha’s Comic Yuri Hime started publishing it in 2016.

Hana ni Arashi is an original webcomic that started serialization in 2017 in Shogakukan’s Sunday Web Every. The story revolves around Chidori and Nanoha, two high school girls who are secretly dating.

Kiss and White Lily for My Dearest Girl is set in Sairen Gakuen, an all-girls’ middle and high school. The manga tells the stories of many different couples that have some relation to the main couple: the hardworking Shiramine and her rival, the genius Kurosawa. It began publication in 2013 in Media Factory’s Comic Alive magazine. Yen Press released an English version in 2017.

Citrus, a manga about the forbidden relationship between Yuzu and her new stepsister Mei, is currently published in Comic Yuri Hime. Passione produced the anime adaptation, which aired at the beginning of 2018. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the series in 2014.

Nettaigyo wa Yuki ni Kogareru began serialization in Kadokawa’s Dengeki Maoh magazine in 2017. High school student Konatsu moves from the big city to a small fishing town in Ehime Prefecture. On her first day, she visits her school’s Aquarium Club and meets Koyuki, the most popular girl in school. As they deepen their friendship, they find out that they’re more alike than they first seemed.

The Kase-san and… Series, first published in Shinshokan’s Hirari magazine in 2010, is the story of the blossoming relationship between two high school girls, Yamada and Kase. The manga follows them through high school, with the currently-running sequel series telling the story of their college experience together. The anime adaptation of Kase-san and Morning Glories animated by Zexcs recently premiered overseas at Anime Expo 2018.
