What is Ten Count
Ten Count is a BL manga written and illustrated by Rihito Takarai that Shinshokan’s Dear+ published from July 2013 to November 2017. The series centers on Tadaomi Shirotani, a capable corporate secretary with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, and Riku Kurose, a therapist who offers to help Shirotani. The two develop a ten-step plan for Shirotani to complete as part of his therapy. But, as Shirotani and Kurose start working together, their attraction to each other grows.
In a year with many BL manga series becoming anime, the sixth volume of the manga announced Ten Count would receive an anime adaptation. In Japan, the Takarai’s manga is immensely popular with over 2 million copies sold. It isn’t only a hit in Japan. Currently, Viz Media’s SubLime imprint is licensing the manga in English.
