Editor’s Blog: Manga Planet Visits Card Captor Sakura: Clear Card Cafe

The Editor’s Blog is Manga Planet’s wrap-up of the week. We have a lot of exciting projects in the works now to produce more manga!

Manga Planet Updates

We have been very busy at Manga Planet this week working to bring new manga to our website. Even though we only have two series, After School! and The Golden Age of Decadence*hint hint* maybe around March or April we will be making a big announcement.

We have officially released volume one of The Golden Age of Decadence and After School! on Amazon. Please consider supporting the artists and Manga Planet so that we can publish more manga in English!

Last but not least, Manga Planet has launched the (Re)Birthday Party Campaign. From February 15 to February 22, you can enter to win a 500 yen Amazon.com Gift card! Just be sure to follow the entry rules.

In Our Orbit: What’s Going, Going, Going, Going On (at the Card Captor Sakura Cafe)

For anime and manga fans of a certain age, Card Captor Sakura is a classic series filled with innocence and potentially questionable aspects in hindsight. The most recent reboot of the series, Card Captor Sakura: Clear Arc, appears to be much like the original, albeit with slightly aged up characters and updated character designs.

Celebrating the broadcast of the new anime, TOWER RECORDS CAFE collaborated with Card Captor Sakura to produced an anime cafe running from February 6 to March 14, 2018 at TOWER RECORDS CAFE Shibuya, TOWER RECORDS CAFE Umeda Nu Chayamachi, and TOWER RECORDS CAFE Sapporo Pivo Store. Over the weekend, Manga Planet had the opportunity to visit the cafe and take photos for all our fans!

Unlike most anime cafes, the TOWER RECORDS CAFE is usually a normal cafe.

Even though TOWER RECORDS CAFE is typically a normal Tokyo cafe, they didn’t skimp on the Card Captor Sakura decor.

We feasted on the Sakura in Full Bloom! Reunion with Syaoran Rice Omelet.

We also ordered the Sakura’s Hanyaan Hotcakes for a sweet treat!
This wouldn’t be an anime cafe without themed drinks. The TOWER RECORDS Card Captor Sakura: Clear Card cafe didn’t disappoint. Each sakura flavored character drink included a coaster.

Each order also came with limited edition bookmark. Any Touya x Yukito shippers out there?

Guests could look at character designs for this season while waiting for their food.

Sakura and Syaoran have aged well since the series debuted.
Compared to the Anime Cafes, TOWER RECORDS Cafe has a more relaxed and casual environment. Prior reservations are not required, though during busy times they might hand out tickets for guests to come at a later time.

For an anime cafe, this cafe had spectacular food. Though it lacked events like the Animate Cafes, the TOWER RECORDS CAFE collaborations are great for people looking for a low-key, high-quality anime cafe experience.
