Hello from Manga Planet! Here is our monthly list of manga events happening in Japan this July 2021!

Nakamura Hikaru’s World Exhibition (Tokyo)

A large scale exhibition will be held to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Nakamura Hikaru-sensei’s debut. Nakamura-sensei’s masterpieces such as “Arakawa Under the Bridge” “Saint Onii-san” and “Black Night Parade” will be on display.

KINGDOM Exhibition The Road of SHIN

An exhibition will be held to commemorate the 15th year of serialization of popular manga “Kingdom” which is serialized in “Weekly Young Jump” (Shueisha). Attendees will be able to experience the overwhelming power of the work!

The Final Soul-burning Battle Begins! Coamix x Animate “Shuumatsu no Valkyrie” Anime Adaptation Commemorative Fair

Manga “Shuumatsu no Valkyrie” that is being serialized in Coamix’s “Monthly Comic Zenon” and has sold over 6 million copies, will have an anime adaptation on Netflix starting in June.
To celebrate, Animate will be holding an anime adaptation fair.
During the period, for each purchase of the target product, one B6 visual board (6 types) will be given out.

In addition, a serial application form will be given for each purchase of the target product(s). Autographed posters signed by the cast will be given to ten people via lottery from those who applied during the period.

“Tougen Anki Volume 4” Release Comemmorative Fair

The volume 4 of “Tougen Anki” will be released on June 8 (Tue), and Animate will be holding a fair to celebrate it. During the period, one bromide (4 types) will be given for each purchase of the target product. In addition, one serial application form will be given for each purchase of target product. A duplicate original picture will be given via lottery to those who applied during the period.

“The Promised Neverland” Special Exhibition Okayama

Popular manga, anime, and now live action movie, “The Promised Neverland” will have a special exhibition to commemorate the completion of the four-year serialization.

“Kuroshitsuji” 15th Anniversary Comic Fair 3rd Edition

During the period, a bookmark with a famous scene from the manga (12 types) will be given for every purchase of one target product.

In addition, if you purchase volumes 19 to 30 in Animate bookstores between January 8 (Fri) to July 25 (Sun), a “get 1 benefit” coupon that can be used at the fair will be given.

A display contest with the themes “Character Popularity Vote” and “Quote and Scene Vote” will be held at each store.
The “characters” and “quotes and scenes” that were voted by everyone will be the bonus designs for the fourth edition.

Rurouni Kenshin 25th Anniversary Exhibition Niigata

Continuing from the Tokyo and Kyoto venues, the Rurouni Kenshin 25th Anniversary exhibition will be held in Niigata City.
The first large-scale exhibition, more than 200 original handwritten manuscripts and colored drawings from Weekly Shounen Jump will be on display.

“Boku no Hero Academia” Exhibition DRAWING SMASH Osaka

The first original drawing exhibition for the popular manga and anime “Boku no Hero Academia” has been decided! In the exhibition, along with the handwritten manuscripts by Kohei Horikoshi-sensei, a three-dimensional exhibition and a video exhibition where guests can deeply enjoy the world of “HeroAca”. Additionaly, BONES, the studio that is in charge of the anime for “HeroAca”, will exhibit original drawings and storyboards of the fifth season of the TV anime series and the third movie. Original goods will also be available for purchase.

Completion Commemoration Haikyuu!! Exhibition

To commemorate the completion of popular manga “Haikyuu!!”, an original art exhibition will be held. Handwritten manuscripts by Haruichi Furudate-sensei and newly drawn illustrations for the exhibition will be on display. Original goods will also be sold.

Arina Tanemura x Animate Cafe Collaboration Precious Wedding Party

Due to great popularity, Animate Cafe will be holding their 3rd collaboration cafe with popular mangaka, Arina Tanemura. Tanemura-sensei is the creator of popular mangas such as “ION”,”Shinshi Doumei Cross”, “Full Moon wo Sagashite” and “Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne”.
There will be a stamp campaign held wherein for every 2,000 yen (tax included) purchase of food and drinks, a stamp will be given. A glitter charm will be given in exchange for 3 stamps.

Kadokomi 2021 in Animate July Edition

Starting in July, “Kadokomi 2021” led by KADOKAWA will be held in bookstores nationwide. Animate will also be participating.

During the period, for each purchase of the target product, one Kadokomi 2021 x Da Vinci booklet (July issue: 4 types, August Issue: 2 types) will be given.
